PTI worker’s father claims ANP leader not involved in killing his son

The case of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) worker’s killing in Nowshera took a new twist on Monday when the victim’s father denied senior ANP leader Mian Iftikhar Hussain’s involvement in the murder, according to local media sources.

Nowshera police arrested Mian Iftikhar Hussain on Sunday after a teenaged worker of PTI was killed during celebratory firing at Pabbi area of the town.

A case was registered against him on the complainant of Sher Alam, father of the victim, who alleged that Mian Iftikhar ordered his guard to open fire on his son, sources had claimed earlier.

Following his arrest, the Awami National Party (ANP) senior leader was produced before local magistrate who remanded him into police custody of for one day. He denied all charges, claiming that PTI supporters attacked on his life, authorities claimed.

Sher Alam surprisingly distanced himself from the case.

He said in his statement before the judge that he had not got any FIR registered against Mian Iftikhar Hussain, saying that the ANP leader was not involved in the killing.
