The situation in Daska has normalised after the city saw protests and arson by the local lawyers and people followed by deserted look due to shutter down strike, in the aftermath of the brutal murder of Daska-based two senior lawyers Rana Khalid Abbas (President Daska Bar Association) and Muhammad Irfan Chohan by accused police inspector Shehzad Warraich during a clash in front of the Daska city Police Station five days ago on May 25.
All the shops, bazaars, markets, business centres remained opened fearlessly with usual flow of traffic on all the inter-city roads in Daska.
However, the protesting lawyers today marched peacefully on various city roads to lodge their protest against the brutal murders of their senior colleagues.
Meanwhile, the office of the deputy superintendent of police (DSP) has started working temporarily in the small sized judicial complex (Bakhashi Khana) adjacent to the Daska City Police Station.
A mob of the protesting people including some lawyers had set ablaze the office of the DSP with complete official record during the protest.
The lawyers’ community has urged the Punjab government to construct a monument at the spot of the incident in the memory of deceased lawyers.
