An anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Saturday extended the bail of estranged Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) leader Zulfiqar Mirza till June 10. The court extended the bail of Mirza and his supporters in various cases registered against them.
Hearing of pleas for transfer of cases from ATC to sessions court would be held on the next date of the case. The prosecution lawyer said that several important cases were pending against Mirza and the court should confiscate his passport to prevent him from leaving the country. There were heated exchanges between lawyers from both sides but the courts persuaded them to remain calm. Mirza arrived at the court amid high security under the protection provided by Rangers.
