The Islamabad Police have arrested eight outlaws and five suspects during operations in the city, besides seizing liquor, heroin, weapons, fake currency and stolen property from their possession, a police spokesman said.
He said that Islamabad Inspector General of Police (IGP) Tahir Alam Khan directed all sub-divisional police officer (SDPOs) and station house officers (SHOs) to enhance patrolling as well as checking in various areas of the city and conduct search operation at slum, Afghan habitats, under construction buildings, workshops, bus stands and inns.
Following his directions, SDPOs deputed in Islamabad headed this search operation. Nilor Police Station SHO along with police team conducted search in under construction buildings as well as plazas there.
The police teams succeeding in nabbing five suspects who are being investigated further.
Meanwhile, police teams of Khanna, Ramna, Tarnol police stations arrested eight accused, namely Muhammad Mujahid, Tariq Hussain, Muhammad Adnan, Talat Mehboob, Saad Asif, Abdul Rahman and Wagi Jamal, and also arrested a woman, besides seizing 60 litres of liquor, 520 grams of heroin, fake currency, three unlicensed handguns, ammunition and stolen property from their possession.
