Water shortage

While there has been severe lack of water in North Nazimabad and North Karachi, people have been forced to dig wells in their houses or streets in order to gain access of water. While this descent into centuries-old methods of procuring water is alarming enough on its own, what makes it all the more galling is that functional hydrants are being used in the very same area to fill the tankers throughout the day, the same tankers that are then sold to public at exorbitant prices.

If indeed the water crisis is not caused by illegal hydrants, then there is no reason why there should be abundance in one pipeline and shortage in another just a few miles away. The relevant authorities need to look into this issue and fix it as soon as possible.
