Daska incident: SHO Shehzad sent on 12-day physical remand

A Gujranwala court on Wednesday sent Daska Station House Officer (SHO) Inspector Shehzad Warraich on 12-day physical remand on the accusation for killing two lawyers in Daska.

As per details, the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) had requested for 15-day physical remand of the suspect.

The court after hearing the arguments adjourned the hearing till June 8.

At least two lawyers were killed in clashes with police when an anti-encroachment drive turned violent in Daska city, forcing authorities to deploy paramilitary forces to contain the unrest.

LAWYERS’ STRIKE ENTERS THIRD DAY:

Meanwhile, the strike of lawyers in tehsil bar entered third day on Wednesday.

The lawyers have completely boycotted the subordinate courts in the city to record their protest against the killing of their fellow lawyers.

As per details, Punjab Bar Council appealed the lawyers to continue strike against Daska incident by boycotting the district courts.

Meanwhile, the Lahore High Court (LHC) has started hearings of major cases.

The rangers have been ordered to beef up the security of the courts, however, police personnel have also been refrained from participating in any security related operation.
