Khattak directs TEVTA to revamp technical, vocational training

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Pervez Khattak has directed the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (KP-TEVTA) to take concrete measures for revamping the technical and vocational training institutes of the province.

Chairing a meeting of the Board of Directors (BOD) of KP-TEVTA at CM Secretariat on Tuesday the CM asked TEVTA to ensure contemporary trainings of optimum standards, keeping in view the local and international job market demands in different modern trades, which could widen employment prospects for youth of the province both at local and foreign levels.

He stressed the need of work together with the Pakistan Army, Pakistan Air Force, Aman Foundation, and such other reputable organisations to impart high standard technical and vocational training to at least 50,000 youth of the province every year.

He also directed to set up modern training institutes in all industrial estates as well as the housing colony being established at Nasapa, Charsadda for welfare of street children.

He also directed to devise a fool-proof and effective monitoring system for all-time checking of the performance of KP-TEVTA training institutions and remarked that KP government was ambitions to see KP-TEVTA as a powerful and meaningful authority in respect of quality training of the youth.

He also directed TEVTA to hold BOD meeting fortnightly in a bid to accelerate the pace of its operations.  The Chief Minister also formed strategic planning committee, besides Finance, HR, Monitoring and Technical Committees of KP-TEVTA to formulate rules and procedures for KP-TEVTA and also devise management strategies.

Considering KP-TEVTA affairs, the BOD was approved of nomination of Senator Noman Wazir as vice chairman of the board and took several other decisions regarding governance and institutional development, financial management system, budget allocations, organizational structure, human resources, future plans and planning and management mechanism etc.
