Chief Justice of Islamabad High Court (IHC) Muhammad Anwar Khan Kasi on Tuesday termed the Daska tragedy deplorable and announced full support to lawyers.
A condolence reference was arranged in IHC to mourn the killing of as many as two lawyers in which prominent lawyers and judges participated. During the reference, CJ Kasi condemned the incident and urged the authorities to ensure the protection of lawyers.
He further announced support for the protesting counsels at every step.
Earlier, the police opened fire on protesting lawyers which claimed the lives of two including Daska bar president Rana Khalid Abbas. The enraged protesters had set the Tehsil Municipality Authority (TMA) and Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) offices and the house of assistant commissioner on fire.
