Four dacoits killed: Police encounter

The city police wiped out four dacoits in an alleged encounter in Sunday’s small hours in Karachi area of Railway Colony. Meantime, the string of search operations goes apace in the metropolis, according to local media sources.

Receiving a report of a robbery, a police party rushed into Railway Colony where they met gunfire from the outlaws. However, the alleged encounter wrapped up with the killing of four dacoits.

According to SSP city, a pistol and two snatched motorbikes were recovered from the possession of the miscreants. Bodies have been shifted to Civil Hospital.

Hill Park Search Operation

Earlier during the night, at least 27 suspected people were arrested during a police search operation near Hill Park, according to sources.

According to police sources, some foreigners are also included among the people rounded up by police in an overnight house-to-house search operation in Gulshan-e-Iqbal area of Hill Park.

Police sources said the operation was launched on intelligence regarding the presence of suspected people in the area; however, no firearms were recovered from the suspects, authorities had stated.

The interrogations with the apprehended people are in progress, police sources said.
