EC hasn’t removed PTI reservations on polls rigging: Tareen

PTI secretary general Jahangir Tareen has said Election Commission (EC) has not removed his party reservations on polls rigging.

“Huge facts are coming to open with the establishment of the Judicial Commission (JC). The conspiracy of the thumb impression in polls rigging should be exposed. It is matter of regret that EC has not addressed our concerns on vote fraud,” he said while talking to media men on Saturday after his participation in a ceremony at Sir Syed Memorial University.

He went on to say that PTI had provided a list of 14 witnesses to EC but the list was curtailed later because the decision to call witnesses is taken by a legal team. JC can record evidence from video conference.

He alleged that MNAs from other parties are running their election campaign openly but no notices were issued to them. Therefore, questions are being raised on the role of EC, he added.

He stressed that former NADRA Chairman Tariq Malik must be summoned in the inquiry commission. JC will decide about calling Tariq Malik for recording his evidence, he added.

“Why has the National Assembly (NA) Speaker Ayyaz Sadiq scolded FAFEN Chief Mudassar Rizvi on presenting a report. Who has authorised him to give an order to the chief of a private institution?” he inquired.

Interior minister had said that there was no need of magnetic ink but now the conspiracy about thumb impression in polls rigging should be exposed and decision should come before the entire nation, he underlined.

To a question he said that intra party polls will be held by PTI soon because such steps strengthen the party.
