A Punjab University spokesman has rejected plagiarism allegations leveled against Punjab University Law College Dr Shazia Qureshi by faculty members of the same institution.

In a statement issued following a story published in Pakistan Today titled “PU law faculty moves against VC’s ‘plagiarist’ wife”, the spokesperson said that plagiarism in published articles is out of question in the modern world. He said that journals of good repute undertake plagiarism test of all the articles received before publication. He said that plagiarism reports of Dr Shazia Qureshi’s articles were clear.

“Dr Shazia’s articles were relevant and senior academicians of international repute have reviewed these articles,” said the spokesperson, adding that the faculty members who have written a letter against Dr Shazia Qureshi had been rejected by the faculty members of Punjab University in the recent elections of Academic Staff Association because of their negative politics.
