KARACHI:
At least four terrorists hailing from Umar Khorasani group of outlawed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) have been wiped out during an overnight police encounter in Karachi area of Baldia Town, according to local media sources.
According to DSP Ali Raza, personnel of Counter-Terrosism Department (CTD) of police launched a sting operation over an intelligence regarding the presence of the TTP terrorists in Ittehad Town area of Baldia. Finding themselves in police cordon, the terrorists opened gunfire at the police party.
The gunfight wrapped up with the killing of four terrorists who are believed to be involved in Wagah bombing that left nearly 50 people dead, authorities stated.
The bodies of terrorists have been shifted to Civil Hospital. Police recovered firearms and ammunitions from the custody of the saboteurs.
The terrorists were present in Karachi for a subversive activity in the megacity, sources claimed.
