The Balochistan government on Thursday decided to bring a no-confidence motion against the provincial legislature’s defiant assembly speaker Jan Muhammad Jamali.
The decision was made during a Balochistan cabinet meeting presided by Chief Minister Dr Abdul Malik Baloch.
Balochistan Information Minister Rahim Ziaratwal told journalists that the cabinet had decided to bring a no-confidence move against Speaker Jan Jamali. “The motion against the speaker will be presented during the ongoing Balochistan Assembly session,” said the minister.
Jamali, who belongs to the PML-N, had violated party policy during the recent Senate elections when he fielded his own daughter to contest for a women’s seat. Differences between the party and its Balochistan leadership had cost the PML-N a crucial seat during Senate polls.
