As many as six suspects including four terrorists involved in the Wagah border blast were killed during an encounter by the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) late on Thursday and early Friday in Karachi’s Baldia Ittehad Town and Manghopir areas.
The CTD officers conducted a raid after receiving information from intelligence department. The terrorists belonged to the banned organisation Jamat-ul-Ahrar’s Omer Khorasani group.
According to the details, an exchange of fire took place between the officers and terrorists during which four suspects were arrested in injured condition. The suspects succumbed to their injuries while being shifted to a hospital. The terrorists were present in Karachi for a subversive activity in the mega city. Huge amount of latest ammunition and explosives were found in possession of the terrorists. One CTD officer was also injured in the encounter.
Meanwhile, Rangers took eight suspects into custody during various raids conducted in the city.
