DG Rangers suspect foreign hands behind Karachi unrest

DG Rangers Maj. Gen. Bilal Akbar expressed determination of controlling terrorism in Karachi while stating that foreign powers are behind the subversive activities in the metropolis, according to local media sources.

While briefing the standing committee of human rights, he said that foreign powers are involved behind the terrorism in Karachi and the proofs have been handed over to the federal government.

He briefed that law enforcement agencies are conducting successful intelligence based operations in Karachi, stated authorities.

“15 percent of the target killing incidents in Karachi are on sectarian bases,” DG Rangers added.

IG Sindh also briefed the committee and said that law and order situation of the province has been improved with joint efforts of police and rangers.

He claimed that incidents of kidnapping for ransom have also been curtailed, sources told.
