Development will put boom back into businesses, ICCI tells CDA

Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) organised an oath taking ceremony for the newly elected officer bearers of Traders Welfare Association, Al-Fateh Market.

As per election results, Nisar Ahmed Mirza was declared as President, Shaukat Nawaz Senior Vice President, Khurram Saeed & Munir Jadoon Vice Presidents, Muhammad Naeem Secretary General, Pervez Bajwa Joint Secretary and Kaleem Hussain Shah as Secretary Information. ICCI Group Leader, Abdul Rauf Alam, administered the oath to the newly elected office bearers.

Speaking at the occasion, ICCI President, Muzzamil Hussain Sabri, said that the condition of roads, footpaths, streetlights in Al-Fatah Market, G-9/3, was pathetic, while the business centre was without a water filtration plant and toilet.

He urged the CDA to focus on better developing the markets, including Al-Fatah market, which will help in smooth promotion of business activities. He congratulated the newly elected officer bearers of the Traders Welfare Association, Al-Fateh Market, G-9/3, Islamabad and assured them that ICCI would play its role for resolving their issues.

ICCI Group Leader, Abdul Rauf Alam, said that traders should stand united as they could better protect their business interests and resolve issues by developing strong unity in their ranks. He said the business community was not in favour of any conflict with the government and it wanted to do business in a peaceful environment. He said that soon a meeting would be held with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to resolve the issue of early markets closure in Islamabad. He was hopeful that a win-win solution of this matter would be found.

He congratulated newly elected team and hoped that Nisar Ahmed Mirza, a hardworking leader, would play a pivotal role in resolving the issues of the Al-Fateh Market. He assured that the ICCI would fully cooperate with trade unions to address their issues through joint efforts.
