In a survey, Pakistan Today has learnt that the government has failed to uniformly implement Nizam-e-Salah in the federal capital as it was supposed to be implemented on May 1. It has been found that no progress has been made in this context, even in the Parliament’s mosque.
It has been also observed that many mosques have flayed the government’s prayer timings, continuing with their old schedule. Only a few mosques were following the government’s announced time.
Sources in the Ministry of Religious Affairs told this scribe that a convention of clerics has been called for May 26 at Convention Center Islamabad for the implementation Nizam-e-Salah in federal capital.
The Ministry of Religious Affairs spokesperson told that the schedule will be implemented gradually and voluntarily. There are 900 mosques in federal capital, therefore it was difficult to impose the schedule forcibly, he added.
While talking to Pakistan Today, the central leader of Majlis Wahdat-e-Muslimeen (MWM) Maulana Husnain lashed out at Minister for Religious Affairs Sardar Yousuf saying that since they announced the schedule no contact has been made by the minsters in this regard.
He alleged that government is not serious in implementing the Nizam-e-Salah as the idea was pitched “only to please Saudia on Imam-e-Kaba’s arrival”.
The Jamatud Dawa (JUD) spokesman claimed that they are following the same schedule provided by the government, as it was in “national interest and religious harmony”.
Earlier, Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Sardar Yousuf had announced that uniform prayer timings in the federal would be implemented from May 1. The implementation of the uniform prayer timings had Spokesman announced by Imam-e-Kaba Sheik Khalid al Ghamdi.
