LAHORE:
A security control room of Punjab Sports Board in National Hockey Stadium has been made functional on the Zimbabwe team’s tour to Pakistan, according to local media sources.
Punjab Sports Director General Usman Anwar stated this while briefing the media about the working of security control room.
He said that security arrangements of Nishter Park Sports Complex have been finalized on Zimbabwe team’s tour to Pakistan, sources claimed.
The DG said that 79 CCTV cameras have been installed for the security of the complex while Pakistan Cricket Board had installed 25 cameras.
So, the security of the complex was being monitored through more than 100 cameras, authorities stated.
He said that it was being strictly observed that all security personnel which were deputed on different points were performing their duties properly or not, reportedly.
Software which was installed in security control room was the best software in the world and the same software was used by FIFA in 2014 Football world cup, he added.
He said that 250 cameras can be installed in the system, adding that yesterday Zimbabwe security team came here to review the security arrangements and they have expressed satisfaction over the security arrangements after observing security control room, authorities had reported.
This is fine, but why rest of the country has to live under fear & exposed to the threats from the criminals? Providing security to a few games will not change the reality on the ground. Germany had hosted Olympics right before the start of WW II.
