Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif will inaugurate new lounges and other facilities built at Benazir Bhutto International Airport in Islamabad today to provide modern and additional facilities to the passengers.
Aviation Secretary Mohammad Saleem Gardezi said that an amount of Rs 400 million has been spent on the construction of new lounges, runway and parking facilities. He said the work has been completed in a record period of six months.
He said the modernisation of the airport would save millions of rupees of fuel being spent by the aircraft. He said earlier due to lack of runways additional facility, the aircraft were made to remain waiting in the air for their turn.
