Cop shot dead in Quetta

 

 

 

Unidentified armed men on a motor cycle gunned down a policeman in Quetta on Sunday.

The police said that Khadim Hussain was on his way to work when armed men fired shots at him near Saryab Road. Hussain died on the spot while the assailants fled.

The body was shifted to Civil Hospital Quetta where it was handed over to heirs after postmortem.

The police after registering a case against unidentified murders have started the investigation.

Separately, at least 20 operatives, including nine commanders of outlawed outfits, were killed in Kalat raids, officials said.

“Security forces, engaged in an extensive operation in the rugged territory, neutralised these low and high profile targets in the last 48 hours,” sources told reporters.

On top of eliminating these threats, a sizable stash of arms and explosives was also seized by the Frontier Corps personnel.

Earlier on Saturday, paramilitary forces killed at least four members of a Baloch insurgent group in the port city of Karachi, officials said.

In the meanwhile, as many as 72 suspects including Afghan nationals were arrested during search operation in different areas of Peshawar on Sunday.

According to details, heavy contingent of police assisted by women police conducted operation in Yakatoot and Khyber Super Market localities of Peshawar.

During search operation the police checked the CNICs and other documents of the residents, businessmen and other people engaged in different jobs.

The police arrested 72 suspects including four Afghan nationals who have been shifted to an undisclosed destination for interrogation.

Moreover, in Jehanian, as many as 20 suspected Afghan nationals were arrested during search operation in different areas on Sunday.

The police conducted search operation against Afghan nationals residing in different areas of Jehanian over alleged involvement in illegal business and crimes.

During operation the police arrested 20 Afghan nationals allegedly involved in illegal business and other activities. The police after registering a case against the detainees at concerned police station have started the investigation.
