Rangers claimed to have killed seven alleged terrorists in separate encounters in the metropolis on Saturday.

FOUR BLA TERRORISTS KILLED

Another raid was conducted by Rangers in Pak Colony, Old Golimar, where four terrorists affiliated with the outlawed Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) were killed during Rangers operation, a spokesman for the paramilitary forces said on Saturday.

The Rangers spokesman said a network of the BLA was present in the area which was carrying out criminal activity in coordination with other banned organisations.

According to Sindh Rangers, the suspects resorted to indiscriminate firing during the operation, which was met by retaliation from members of the paramilitary force. The crossfire led to the death of four suspected terrorists — Babul Baloch, Chota Sajid, Khalid Mandhi and Rafique.

The press release added that the criminals were involved in anti-state activities with the BLA. They were engaged in extortion, kidnapping for ransom and were allegedly behind a number of targeted killings.

Along with weapons, a large quantity of narcotics was also recovered from the suspects’ possession.

Law enforcement agencies have been actively seeking to rid Karachi of terrorism and violence via operations in the city’s troubled areas for well over a year now.
