Safoora attack probe: Two operatives of banned outfit arrested

Intelligence agencies Saturday traced the printing press which published pamphlets found from Safoora shooting site.

According to a private news channel, various areas of the metropolis were raided to investigate the Safoora Chowrangi incident during which at least four suspects were detained.

Intelligence agencies say the pamphlet has resemblance with those left at Dr Debra Lobo s attack site. The printing press located at Aisha Manzil, Aram Bagh and Pakistan Chowk were raided whereas the arrested suspects have been shifted to undisclosed location for interrogation.

Meanwhile, forensic report of ammunition used in the attack failed to match with the laboratory data and revealed that this type of ammunition was not used in any previous attack. Police sent 32 empties of 9mm pistol and five shells of Kalashnikov for forensic examination.

Sketch of an attacker has also been made with the assistance of an eyewitness. Police said the attackers wore shirts, jackets and trousers. Investigation revealed that attackers opened fire on the bus but due to the loud sound of firing later took it to a remote spot and killed the remaining people.

Police also recorded statements of two security guards who were deployed at a nearby vacant house. Record of phone calls made in the vicinity during the time of incident is also being investigated.
