The Charsadda Police Anti Terror Squad on Saturday foiled a major terrorism bid by recovering 15 kilograms of explosives in Charsadda.

According to DPOs, unidentified armed men had a 15kg bomb planted at Khayali Bridge. The Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) received information regarding explosives planted near Swat River. They defused the explosives thus saving the city from a major terrorist attack.

The BDS said that a suicide jacket was amongst the defused explosives which have been taken into custody. The bomb squad added that a huge explosion was feared to take place if the explosives had gone off.
