ICCI President has a few words for the govt

Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry President, Muzzamil Hussain Sabri, has called upon Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif to fix market closure timings in the federal capital in consultation with business community.

He was addressing a gathering of traders after inaugurating Gulberg Green City in Islamabad.

He said that a lot of traffic was witnessed daily at the Islamabad Expressway due to which truckers and other commuters were facing lot of problems and called upon the CDA to develop the Expressway into a 10 lane road from Zero Point Islamabad up to Rawat with the signal free facility.

He said a separate bypass should be developed from Pir Widhai to Rawat for trucks and 20 wheelers in order to avoid rush on the Islamabad Highway.

He said the traders of Islamabad had suffered big losses due to the political sit-ins and Metro Bus project. Many traders were facing difficulties in meeting daily expenditures, especially, the traders of the Blue Area and Peshawar More were the worst sufferers.

He said that the Punjab government has waived off property tax of Murree Road traders and he called upon the Federal Government to extend a similar tax concessions to the Metro Bus project affected traders of Islamabad. He also appealed to Finance Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar to issue instructions for acceptance of income tax returns filed by Islamabad traders.
