Jamiat Ulema Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Fazalur Rahman has expressed deep concern over the death sentence of former Egyptian president Muhammad Morsi, saying that such sentence will “fuel extremism and instability in the country and beyond”.

In a statement issued by JUI Secretariat, he said that “this death sentence against Morsi runs contrary to the human rights, and freedoms of the Egyptian people”.

“JUI urges the current Egyptian government to suspend Morsi’s trial and death sentence and make sure due legal procedures are followed and perception of vendetta against the followers of Muslim Brotherhood regime, be done away with.”
