The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Saturday claimed that the election tribunal had accepted the party’s appeal over forged results of NA-122.
NADRA Chairman Usman Mobin was also present during the hearing. He told the tribunal judge that forensic examination of rigging in PP-147 is underway and the results would be submitted to the court on May 25.
According to the forensic report submitted by the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) to the election tribunal, only 73,478 of the total 184,151 votes cast in NA-122 (Lahore-V) during the 2013 general elections could be verified.
Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz’s Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, the incumbent speaker of the National Assembly, had defeated PTI Chairman Imran Khan in the constituency.
The election tribunal had shared copies of the NADRA report with the counsels for the PML-N and PTI, and had summoned the NADRA chairman and deputy director on May 16 for cross-examination by lawyers of both the parties.
