National Assembly (NA) Speaker, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, while meeting with the newly appointed Punjab Governor, Malik Muhammad Rafique Rajwana on Thursday said that all pro-progress political forces are united on issues of national importance and for the betterment of the masses.
During the meeting at the Parliament House‚ matters, relating to important issues of national and public interest also came under discussion. The speaker said that Pakistan is currently fighting the menace of extremism and terrorism, which could be tackled through concerted efforts by all. He expressed his distress over the terrorist incident in Karachi. He said that perpetrators could be apprehended and brought to justice.
He said that the appointment of Malik Muhammad Rafique Rajwana is the reflection of confidence and trust that the leadership holds in terms of his abilities. He expressed hope that he would utilise his experience and professional capabilities for the welfare of the people of the province.
Punjab Governor Malik Muhammad Rafique Rajwana said that continuity of the democratic process is imperative for peace and progress in the country.
