The Sindh government on Wednesday announced to observe a day of mourning in the province today (Thursday) after the deadly attack on a bus in Karachi left at least 45 people dead.
Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Memon announced the decision that the Sindh government would officially observe day of mourning in the whole province.
The Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) also called for Thursday to be a day of mourning following a deadly attack on Karachi’s Ismaili community on Wednesday. Public offices will be flying flags at half-mast and a prayer will be held for those killed in the attack.
MQM chief Altaf Hussain requested that all businesses, educational institutions and public transportation be suspended on Thursday. The call for a day of mourning comes after the Sindh government’s announcement for the same.
