Federal Minister for Water and Power Khawaja Asif has said that no ban has been imposed by the government on the new solar and wind energy projects.
Talking to Sindh’s Minister for Energy Syed Murad Ali Shah on Thursday, he said the new projects would be processed according to the new tariff to be notified by the NEPRA (National Electric Power Regulatory Authority).
He said optimal utilisation of indigenous resources especially the renewable energy was on top of the present government’s power generation policy. He said many projects were already underway while few had started generation.
He said the government welcomed investment in the renewable energy projects and was committed to facilitate the investors. Matters relating to energy projects in Sindh also came under discussion during the meeting.
