Karachi bus attack unanimously condemned by Senate

The Senate on Wednesday passed a unanimous resolution condemning the inhuman and brutal firing on a bus belonging to the Ismaili community, which left at least 45 dead.

The resolution was moved by Karim Khawaja. The resolution strongly condemned the killing of innocent people in Karachi.

“The Senate expresses grief and sorrow over the lives lost in the terrorism incident and expresses sympathies with the victims’ families,” the resolution said.

Meanwhile, Senate members offered Fateha for the departed souls of the 45 innocent passengers, who were killed in a firing incident by the terrorists.

Maulana Attaur Rehman led the Fateha.

Deputy Chairman Senate, Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haideri, who was presiding the session, strongly condemned the brutal murder of passengers in Karachi.

At least 45 members of the Ismaili community were killed when gunmen opened fire on their bus in Safoora Chowk area of Karachi. It was the second deadliest militant attack in Pakistan this year after 62 people were killed in a suicide bombing in late January.
