The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Wednesday adjourned for a week the hearing of a petition against the electricity over-billing by distribution companies.

Justice Athar Minallah heard the petition filed by the Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI)’s MNA, Asad Omer and others.

During the course of proceeding, the counsel for the Ministry of Water and Power apprised the court that an audit report regarding the overbilling has been prepared and would be provided after completion of office procedures.

After hearing the arguments, the court directed the Ministry of Water and Power to present the audit report to the court on next hearing and adjourned the petition for a week.

PTI MNA Asad Omar and others had challenged in the IHC the overbilling made by power distribution companies in the billing months of June and July 2014.

Ministry of water and power, NEPRA and 11 power distribution companies have been made respondents in the petition.
