A Green Line Train is all set to be inaugurated by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on May 15. Security arrangements have been given a final shape for this event.
Commandos and police officials in plain dresses will be deployed on the root. Both the racks made for the train in Mughalpura Workshop Lahore have arrived in Islamabad.
As per details, Railway chief executive officer (CEO) will himself monitor the train on daily basis while relevant officers have been directed to monitor the train’s route from Karachi to Islamabad from control room. Separate lounges will be established for the Green Line in Rawalpindi, Karachi and Lahore.
The train will leave from Karachi to Islamabad and will make stops at Hyderabad, Rohri, Khanewal, Lahore and Rawalpindi on its way.
The train is no ordinary train for sure. It will be a completely air-conditioned while the passengers will be given wifi connection throughout the route. The train will also offer complimentary breakfast and tea and the authorities have assured that there will be no compromise on the quality of food provided.
One train will leave at 3:15 am from Islamabad Margalla Station Cantonment Station and arrive in Karachi after 23 hours and a quarter at Cantonment Station at 2:30 am while the other one will leave from Karachi Cantonment Station at 9:30 am and arrive in Islamabad Margalla Station at 8:45 am the next day.
