CM will put an end to ‘patwar culture’

Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said “patwar culture” will be eliminated in the province through the Land Record Management Information System project.

He was presiding over a high level meeting to review the progress of the project on Tuesday. Planning and Development chairman gave detailed briefing about the progress of the project. The meeting also decided to set up a separate independent institution for future monitoring and implementation of the project.

Addressing the meeting, Shahbaz said that the process of computerisation of more than 24,000 villages of the province has been completed.

He directed that the project be completed within stipulated period at any cost.

“An effective plan should be evolved to ensure old settlement records are preserved,” he said.

He disclosed that service centres are fully operational in 143 tehsils of the province.
