The sacrifices rendered by Pakistan against terrorism have never been admitted with open heart by our western allies. The latest shocking revelation by Seymour M Hersh, an American author and investigative journalist, about the Abbottabad raid has added further insult to injuries of our security forces. The famous author, in my opinion, has tried to aim two preys with a single arrow. He has intelligently created scepticism about our intelligence agencies. He has reported about the support of a retired senior intelligence official against the killing of OBL who according to him is now working with CIA as a consultant.
At the same time he vehemently held ISI responsible for providing safe shelter to OBL. The former report will malign the role of ISI internally and the latter will tarnish its image externally. This report by Mr Hersh is in contradiction with the US and Pakistani version of Abbottabad raid. Such reports should not be made popular or spread indiscriminately because reports like these will only demoralise our security forces that are confronting with the merciless and brutal terrorists.
