ISLAMABAD
Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) protested outside the Parliament House on Tuesday (today) against low power supply in the KP region, a private media outlet reported.
PTI protesters, however, were barred at the main gate of the Parliament House where the mobs attemped to cross security barriers, resulting in scuffles between riot police and the party, according to sources.
According to media reports, PTI’s leadership including the KP Chief Minister Pervez Khattack led the supporters, whereas officials stated that strict security measures had been taken to avoid any problems during the protest, according to sources.
Sources said that Islamabad’s Red Zone has been sealed in the wake of protest sit-in.
The protest was also joined by lawmakers of Jamaat-e-Islami and Awami National Party (ANP), according to press.
