Sharif felicitates Cameron on UK election win

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has felicitated Conservative Party of UK and its leadership on winning clear majority in general elections in the UK.

In a message to UK Prime Minister David Cameron, PM Sharif said Pakistan enjoys strong bilateral ties with the UK which have strengthened with the passage of time. He expressed the confidence that in the next term of Conservative Party, these ties, especially in the field of trade and economy, would reach new heights.

Sharif also congratulated members of Pakistani community who have been victorious in these elections and hoped that they will work for the betterment of both UK and Pakistan as well as for promoting friendship between the two countries.

ON RESTORING PEACE IN KARACHI:

Moreover, in a statement, PM Sharif has reaffirmed the government’s resolve to restore peace and stability in Karachi at all costs. He condemned the killing of DSP Zulfiqar Zaidi in a firing incident at Shah Faisal area of Karachi.

The prime minister directed the Sindh government to beef up security in the provincial capital to avoid recurrence of such instances.

Sharif also sought a report about the incident and emphasized on the need for boosting the morale of police force as it had a key role in maintaining law and order.
