DSP murderers will be brought to justice soon: DG Rangers

Sindh Rangers Director General (DG) Bilal Akbar has said that the culprits involved in the murder of police officials will be arrested soon.

He said that police was an important institution to enforce law in the country and both Rangers and police were working together to maintain peace. He also lauded the efforts and sacrifices of police and vowed to nab the culprits involved in target killing of police officials.

Meanwhile, at least 40 suspects including fugitives and wanted culprits were arrested in police search operation in Gulistan Johar and PIB Colony of Karachi early on Sunday morning.

According to police, raptor, 9mm pistol and drugs were confiscated from the possession of the suspects. On the other hand, dead body of a man has been found from Korangi’s Zia Colony who was killed after torture. Separately, security officers initiated a search operation in Paposh Nagar and arrested at least 11 persons. Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Chaudhry Asad claimed of recovering arms from them.

Police on Sunday also claimed to have killed three robbers in a shootout in Shah Faisal Colony area of the city. According to the police, a car was signalled to stop during snap-checking in Shahfaisal Colony-2 area, but instead of pulling up the car riders opened fire on officers.

The three men, whom police accused of involvement in attack on a Malir Court judge Sikandar Amir, were killed on the spot in retaliatory fire. The police claimed that firearms and hand grenade were also recovered from the suspects. The bodies have been shifted to a hospital for medico-legal formalities.
