The bodies of those killed in Friday’s helicopter crash in Gilgit-Baltistan’s Naltar Valley arrived at Rawalpindi’s Nur Khan Airbase on Saturday from where they were moved to the Combined Military Hospital.
Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif and senior civilian, military and air force officials were present at the airbase.
The government has made preparations to send the bodies of Philippines Ambassador Domingo D Lucenario Jr, Norwegian Ambassador Leif Larsen and the wives of the Malaysian and Indonesian ambassadors to their home countries.
Indonesian Ambassador Burhan Muhammad is in critical condition with 75 per cent burns. Other injured foreigners include Polish Ambassador Andrzej Ananicz, his wife, Dutch Ambassador Marcel de Vink and Malaysian high commissioner.
There were 19 people on board the helicopter, which included 12 foreigners, two military officers and five members of the crew.
