Different areas of the district on Thursday are observing a shutter-down strike as a demonstration of protest and demand for former home minister Dr Zulfiqar Mirza’s arrest after he stormed the police station.
At least 12 different cases have been registered against the former minister under different clauses of the Terrorism Act. Pakistan People’ Party (PPP) and Traders Union called for a strike in different towns of the district including Badin, Khoski and Pangrio.
The markets are closed and there is negligible public transport.
Aerial firing incidents have also been reported from different areas.
