The recent visit of Maldivian President is a positive sign to inaugurate an actively productive and mutually beneficial relation between Pakistan and Maldives. Both the countries signed four MoUs for increased cooperation and joint ventures in the fields of education, health, sports and drug trafficking. Moreover, both the leaders expressed their resolve to strengthen coordination at SAARC and enhance cooperation in trade, investment, tourism, counterterrorism, climate and environmental issues. It is an appreciative achievement of the government’s policy of diversifying diplomacy to explore all potentials in regional and international relations to best serve the national interest as well as to nurture promising set of bilateral ties.
