Shah Humdan literary conference held at RAC

International Institute of Sufism Chairman Dr Ghazanfer Mehdi has said that life and work of Hazrat Shah Humdan and other Sufi saints need to be conveyed to new generation and a policy must be constituted to spread Sufism.

He expressed these views at Shah Humdan Literary Conference organised by Rawalpindi Arts Council in collaboration with International Shah Humdan Association. He said due to arrival of Hazrat Shah Humdan in Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan, bloodshed ended and social peace was established.

Resident Director Waqar Ahmed welcomed all honourable guests at the Council. Renowned historian Dr Riaz Ahmed said that it was a great honour for Pakistan to organise the International Shah Humdan Conference in 1995 at Tajikistan which was presided over by its President Emomali Rahmon.

Renowned intellectual Dr Allama Hussain Ahmed said that literary work of Hazrat Shah Humdan has been preserved in British Library and our government need to get his literature published.

Syed Ali Moosvi said that Islam spread in Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan due to efforts of Hazrat Shah Humdan.

Chairman International Human Rights Dr Shahid Amin said that Shah Humdan was the guardian of basic human rights. Arshad Aziz presented a resolution for the elimination of terrorism and sectarianism and called for promotion of sufizm.

Alhaaj Muhammad Abbas Humdani Sajada Nasheen Bangali Sharif and others also addressed at the conference.
