Salaries of the HED employees

The employees of Punjab Government’s Higher Education Department (HED) are facing a serious problem, and strangely no one is paying heed to it. The salaries of all government employees are transferred to their bank accounts on the first day of every month, but the HED employees have to wait for a week or so to get their salaries transferred. The department has never bothered to look into the matter and resolve the issue. The banks say that they get the salary rolls late from the Secretariat and that is the point where the problem lies.

By the start of this year, a new system was introduced and now the Project to Improve Financial Reporting and Auditing (PIFRA) emails the salary slips to the government employees on first day of every month. If the salary slips could be emailed, why can’t they send the salary rolls to the banks through email? It is a more convenient, reliable and hassle-free method, but they are still relying on the conventional system of sending a courier to deliver the salary rolls to different banks.

The concerned authorities are requested to kindly look into matter and resolve the issue on as soon as possible basis, because it is creating serious difficulties for the employees.
