Students protest continues on 22nd consecutive day

The students of Benazir Institute of Nursing & Community Health Sciences (BINACHS) held a peaceful protest demonstration outside their college on Wednesday on 22nd consecutive day demanding registration of their institute to save their future and for acceptance of their other fundamental demands.

They chanted slogans while holding banners in their hands. While talking to reporters and others, they said that BINACHS was the only institution in upper Sindh where nursing graduation was carried out which had greatly benefited the students of many districts. They alleged that in 2012 two billion rupees were sanctioned for this institution but even then it had not yet been got registered nor basic required facilities had been provided to the enrolled students which was sheer violation of basic rights.

They said they wanted to get it registered with the Pakistan Nursing Council (PNC) for which efforts should be taken. They further said that BenazirBhuttoMedicalUniversity authorities had left them orphan after opening BINACHS as no response was being received from them due to which unrest was being felt among the students and they were extremely worried for their future. They said they were always considered lower than the students of MBBS & BDS that’s why proper basic facilities had been denied to them.

They said they had sent several applications to the university administration which had perhaps fallen on deaf ears. They urged the Sindh government to take urgent steps to resolve their issues or else, they added, they would take extreme actions for which it would be responsible along with the administration of BBMU.
