ISLAMABAD:

The Afghan government have opposed the proposal of a ‘political office’ of th Afghan Taliban, which might prove to be a setback on the peace-process of the country, according to sources.

Hamid Karzai had previously objected to a plaque on the building inscribed with ‘Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’, a name that Taliban had used for their regime in Afghanistan between 1996 to 2001, according to foreign sources.

Representatives of the Afghan Taliban demanded re-opening of their office in Qatar.
