Australia urges Ind-Pak to resolve Kashmir dispute

ISLAMABAD:

Australian Foreign Minister Julie Bishop said on Wednesday that Australia will encourage Pakistan and India to resolve their Kashmir dispute, according to local media sources.

In a joint news conference with PM’s Advisor Sartaj Aziz, the FM made it clear that Australia will not take sides, but wants Islamabad and New Delhi to resolve the conflict bilaterally.

Bishop arrived here on a first visit to Pakistan as Australian foreign minister. She held formal talks with Sartaj Aziz and will also call on Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif as well as the Army Chief Raheel Sharif, according to sources.
