England have slipped to fourth in the ICC Test rankings following their defeat to West Indies in Barbados.
At 1-0 up after the second Test, England looked certain to hang on to third spot behind South Africa and Australia but their five-wicket loss in Bridgetown saw them usurpsed by Pakistan.
Alastair Cook’s side would return to the top three without playing a game should Pakistan fail to beat Bangladesh in Mirpur this week.
In the batting rankings, a first Test hundred in two years saw England captain Cook rise five places to 22nd but Joe Root and Gary Ballance dropped two spots each to seventh and 19th respectively.
James Anderson, who collected 17 wickets in the series at an average of 18, was unmoved in second among the bowlers.
West Indies number six Jermaine Blackwood was rewarded a man-of-the-match performance at the Kensington Oval with a jump of 31 places to 37th.
