Mutahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain’s mere apology for his offensive and distasteful remarks against armed forces and other national security institutions is not enough, said special adviser to prime minister Irfan Siddiqui on Saturday while speaking at a function organised by a local trust.

He said that while the armed forces were rendering immense sacrifices in their fight against terrorism, the highly obnoxious and offensive remarks of the MQM chief would only benefit enemies of the country, who were bent on destabilising it at every cost.

While talking about the Pak-China Economic Corridor, he clarified that the project should not be linked to any political party, as the multi-billion project will change the fate of the country and its people. He said that the project should not be politicised, as the original route of the economic corridor will remain unchanged.

He, however, made it clear the Chinese leadership has reposed full confidence in the prime minister, who leaves no stone unturned to take the country out of the current mess.

The adviser said that several development, infrastructure and energy projects have been undertaken in different parts of the country and energy crisis will be overcome by 2017.

While taking exception to the slow progress of development work during the previous government’s tenure, he said that the entire tenure of five years was wasted and nothing was delivered to the people.

He said that the enemies of the country have become nervous and panicky over the Chinese investment and they were hatching conspiracies to derail the project.

  1. His apology is more than a joke. It's like ship upon any one any time and then clean with your tongue. So is Altaf so called Bhai a Mafia gangster in Indian films but this Bhai is more dangerous for Pakistan and dangerous than TTP leadership. TTP leadership take their responsibility whenever they perform act of barbarism but this Bhai change change color like "Girgit" or any "Munafiq" according to the Islamic terms. He is never going to change himself.
