CDA to make signal free 10-row highway from Zero Point to Koral Chowk

The Capital Development Authority (CDA) after completing process of pre-tenders constructing 10 rows Highway from Zero Point to Koral Chowk, has invited bids from five qualified Construction Companies till May 20 to make the said highway signal free.

The companies would also design the model of 10 rows highway before starting construction work therefore finance and technical bids would be issued separately.

In the first phase, the project of 12 kilometer road at a cost of Rs 10 billion would be completed in one year

In the second phase, the projects for making 10 rows road from Koral Chowk to GT Road Rawat would be initiated. Seven companies had applied for this mega project but CDA short listed to five companies including international companies.

CDA sources said that an interchange in sector I-8 Chowk would also be built where huge traffic gridlocks are witnessed daily during morning and evening rush hours. A new loop on Murree road flyover would be constructed through which traffics coming from Murree road (club road) could smoothly turn to IJP road. Overpass near Sohan area would also be built. An interchange on Kurri and Khanna road would be developed as well. The objective is to make the Expressway from Rawat to Zero Point signal free.

Head on bridges for pedestrians would also be built on the highway. CCTV cameras would also be installed for monitoring the traffic.
