Rs 120m to be spent on Metro’s launch

The government is all set to put extra burden on the shoulders of the public, as around Rs 120 million will be spent on the launching ceremony of Metro Bus Service.

According to sources, the government has given approval to release more than Rs 70 million from the National Treasury of Pakistan. Whereas it has also decided that, approximately Rs 120 million tax payer money would be spend on the launching ceremony of Metro Bus Project.

Facility of special chartered planes would be utilised so that a successful Metro Bus Project ceremony could take place, where invitation has been sent to ambassadors of Turkey and China among other countries.

The Punjab government will be using charted planes to bring ambassadors of various countries to Rawalpindi for the ceremony. Whereas it has been considered that various VVIP personalities would be issued air tickets for the chartered plane.

Attended by senior officials, three important meetings have also taken place at the Punjab Civil Secretariat over the Metro Bus Project.

The Punjab government spokesperson has said that preparations are underway to inaugurate the Metro Bus Project on May 10.
