The National Finance Commission (NFC) Award plays a decisive role in the financial state and working ability of the provincial and central state machinery. The 7th NFC Award is due to expire on 30th June after completing it five years validity. However, as reported in newspapers, the government might extend the existing NFC Award for yet another year so that fresh national consensus may be achieved. Moreover, during the next year in March, census is also due which will give a credible data of provincial population, enabling the government to accurately calculate the needs and requirements of the each province. It is hoped that the government will keep doing its sincere work to achieve meaningful consensus for such important issues so as to smoothly run the federating units and state machinery.
